What events do you associate with winter? Ski? Christmas? Hanukkah? Oysters may not be your first pick.
But in our little coastal town of Minamisanriku, we DO associate cold winter months with oysters because it’s harvesting season from November to early spring and oysters are so worth it.
Have you ventured on a boat, reeled up ropes of oyster, cracked one open and plopped it in your mouth?
You don’t need lemon or any sauce, just savor the milky fluids in your mouth and gulp it, because there’s a lot more where that came from.
