Learning Program by Local Storytellers

A local guide explaining the memorial stone monument that symbolizes the strong bond and friendship between Minamisanriku and Taiwan

Through the personal experiences of Local Storytellers who experienced the disaster, participants learn about the situation at the time, how people evacuated, and the importance of disaster preparedness and disaster risk reduction. Through words that can only be conveyed by those who were actually there, this program provides an opportunity to see disasters as something that concerns oneself and to think about preparations for the future.
